About Poliscopic
Poliscopic is a government intelligence platform that helps citizens, businesses, journalists, and public officials understand the decisions shaping their communities.
By monitoring public meetings, agenda packets, development proposals, and government records, we turn complex civic information into clear, actionable insight.
Why this exists
Government decisions shape our communities every day. New housing developments, transportation investments, zoning changes, public contracts, budget decisions, and economic development projects all begin in public meetings and government documents. Yet most people never have the time to attend meetings, read agenda packets, or track dozens of agencies at once.
Poliscopic exists to bridge that gap.
We monitor public meetings, development proposals, government actions, and policy decisions across Arizona and transform them into clear, accessible reporting. Our goal is simple: make local government understandable.
The name
Poliscopic combines polis — the ancient Greek word for city — with scopic, from the Greek skopein, meaning to observe. The city observed.
We believe informed citizens make better decisions, businesses operate more effectively when they understand the regulatory environment, and public institutions function best when their work is visible to the people they serve.
What we cover
Our coverage focuses on the decisions that shape communities:
- Boards, commissions, and public meetings
- Economic development
- Housing and development
- Zoning and land use
- Transportation and infrastructure
- Public finance and government operations
How we work
Unlike traditional news organizations, we are built around shining a light on public records and public meetings. We monitor government activity at scale, identify significant actions, and surface information that might otherwise remain buried.
Poliscopic operates as a public service. There is no paywall, no advertising, and no subscription required to access our reporting.
