6. FILING MOTION IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT Approve the filing of Maricopa County’s Notice of its Position regarding Pending Motion for Recusal or Disqualification filed on May 27, 2015 in the matter of Melendres v. Arpaio, et al. Case No.: 2:07-CV-02513-GMS in which the Board determined it would not be appropriate to take a position in light of the County’s opposition to and request for reconsideration of the April 15, 2015 decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit making the County a party litigant. This item was heard in Executive Session on May 27, 2015. Consistent with the best practices recommended by the Arizona Attorney General’s Handbook, Section 7.9.7 at 7-23 (Rev. 2013), the attorney having taken the action as directed, and the need for confidentiality having passed, the Board takes the above action regarding the filing of the pleading in the matter of Melendres v. Arpaio, et al. Case No.: 2:07-CV-02513-GMS. (C-06-15-489-M-00)
