A-1. APPROVE A SETTLEMENT REGARDING ATTORNEY FEES IN THE MATTER OF MELENDRES V MARICOPA COUNTY, D.C. NO.: 2:07-CV-02513-GMS, 9TH CIRCUIT CASE NO. 15-15996 Pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17106B, authorize the following amendment to the FY 2016 budget: a) Decrease the expenditure authority for the Non-Departmental (470) General Fund (100) Non-recurring (0001) Contingency (4711) in the line "Unreserved Contingency" in an amount of $100,000. b) Increase the expenditure authority in the Non-Departmental (470) General Fund (100) Non-recurring (0001) in the Judgment/Settlements (4742) by an amount of $100,000. These actions will have a County-wide net impact of zero and they do not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenue duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. Approval of this action will approve recommended settlement of $100,000.00 of plaintiffs’ claim for attorneys’ fees and costs on County’s unsuccessful appeal to the 9th Circuit. (C-06-16-501-S-00)
