CANCELLATION OF ELECTION AND APPROVAL OF APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR MARICOPA WATER DISTRICT NO. 1 Approve the Cancellation of Election and Appointment of Directors pursuant to A.R.S. §16-410(A) and the letter received from Maricopa Water District No. 1. 1. Cancel the election scheduled to be held on November 10, 2020; 2. Appoint Henry C. Conklin and Stanley H. Ashby as Directors to fill the expired terms. The appointed Directors shall serve a three year term commencing January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023 OR until his/her successor is elected and qualified. A person who is appointed pursuant to A.R.S. §16-410(A) is fully vested with the powers and duties of the office as if elected to that office (Supervisorial Districts 4). (C-06-21-137-X-00)

RESCIND PREVIOUS ACTION AND APPROVE CANCELLATION OF ELECTION FOR THE MARICOPA WATER DISTRICT NO.1 Rescind the action taken by the Board on September 16, 2020 regarding the cancellation of the November 10, 2020, election for Maricopa Water District No. 1 (agenda item: C-06-21-137-X-00). It was determined by the District that one of the listed Directors would not be eligible for a seat on the board, and; Pursuant to a new notice from Maricopa Water District No. 1, approve the Cancellation of Election and Appointment of Directors pursuant to A.R.S. §16-410(A), subject to the provision outlined below regarding the placement of an additional candidate on the ballot: 1. Cancel the election scheduled to be held on November 10, 2020; 2. Appoint Henry C. Conklin and Mike Etchart as Directors to fill expired terms Each appointed Director shall serve a three-year term commencing January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023. A person who is appointed pursuant to A.R.S. §16-410(A & B) is “fully vested with the powers and duties of the office as if elected to that office.” Pursuant to A.R.S. § 48-3011(A), the approval of this item is subject to there being no submission(s) of qualified petitions to place a candidate or candidates on the ballot by October 31, 2020, which is the required minimum of 10 days prior to the election.(Supervisorial District 4) (C-06-21-248-X-00)
