19. COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS FUNDING PROPOSAL Authorize the Community Solutions Funding Proposal request for the Gila Bend Unified School District, Softball Field improvements in the amount of $1,325,000 with an expected start date of June 19, 2023, and an expected completion date of November 3, 2023. The property was previously used as a softball field, but most recently was used to store construction debris. This project will include reconstructing the field, repairing existing chain link fencing, repairing the irrigation system, installing new dugouts and bleachers and installing lights and a scoreboard. The softball field will be available for use to the students of the Gila Bend Unified School District and the Gila Bend community. The Board of Supervisors’ Community Solutions Funding (CSF) is primarily intended to cover the cost of initiatives that carry the potential of advancing Maricopa County’s Strategic Goals and provide a clear public benefit for Maricopa County residents. The associated Maricopa County Strategic Goal is: Safe Communities. Also, pursuant to A.R.S. 42-17106(B), authorize the following appropriation adjustments to the final FY 2024 budget: 1. Decrease the expenditure authority in the Non Departmental (D470) General Fund (100) Non Recurring (NRNP) budget in the line “Community Solutions Funding” (4711) by $1,325,000. 2. Increase the expenditure authority in the Non Departmental (D470) General Fund (100) Non Recurring (NRNP) budget in the line “D5 – Community Solutions Funding” (4765) by $1,325,000. These actions will have a net zero impact on the County-wide budget and do not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. 42-17105.
