Item Text
25. GRANTS FUNDS FOR ADULT PROBATION DEPARTMENT Accept the FY 2015-16 grants and related revenue for the Adult Probation Department of the Judicial Branch. The indirect cost rate as of July 2015 is 9.4% as approved by the Department of Finance. Some of the grants for FY 2015-16 do not allow indirect cost recovery as reflected in the attached funding agreements. The status of indirect costs as well as matching funds for each grant is on file in the office of the Clerk of the Board in accordance with ASLAPR retention policy. For FY 2015-16, we anticipate accepting fifteen (15) new awards for Grant Fund revenue of $2,338,411, carrying over Grant Fund revenue balance of $908,462 on seven (7) previously accepted awards and $326.00 in interest on three (3) carryover grants. On the new awards, indirect costs on eligible expenditures are estimated to be $218,278 with $16,300 recoverable and $201,978 unrecoverable. In addition, pursuant to A.R.S § 42-17106, approve an appropriation adjustment resulting in a net increase to revenue and expenditure of $75,829 in FY 2015-16 Adult Probation (110) Adult Probation Grants Fund (211) Operating (0000) budget. This increase is necessary because actual grant funding received is more than anticipated and budgeted. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation and, therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. This budget adjustment does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. (C-11-16-005-G-00)
