27. ADDITION OF ADULT PROBATION POSITIONS AND VEHICLES WITH EXEMPTION FROM MARKINGS AND ISSUANCE OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL LICENSE PLATES Approve the addition of four (4.0) FTE Probation Officers in the Detention Fund and three (3.0) FTE Probation Officers and three (3.0) FTE Surveillance Officers in the General Fund. These positions are needed to maintain statutory and/or best practice ratios in the following areas: Sex Offender Supervision, Domestic Violence Supervision, Intensive Probation Supervision, and Pretrial Electronic Monitoring Also, direct the Office of Management and Budget to adjust the FY 2018 Budget Baselines for the annualized cost of these positions. General Fund: $415,645 Detention Fund: $300,016 Associated with these positions, approve the addition of four (4) vehicles in the Detention Fund and three (3) vehicles in the General Fund to the Permanent Fleet. These vehicles will be purchased with savings within the Adult Probation Department. Also, direct the Office of Management and Budget to adjust the Operating Vehicle Replacement Fund as necessary to accommodate these vehicles being added to the permanent fleet. In addition, approve an exemption from markings and issuance of non-governmental license plates per A.R.S. §38-538.03 because these vehicles will be used to provide surveillance and supervision of convicted felons residing in the community and the location and apprehension of felony absconders. Markings are detrimental to the mission. These will be take home vehicles because supervision and surveillance are not regularly scheduled assignments with set hours. The vehicle information, including make, model, year, color and VIN number will be provided to the Clerk of the Board upon approval of this agenda and purchase of the vehicles. (C-11-17-005-M-00)
