30. AMENDMENT TO THE IGA WITH FIRE MANAGEMENT DIVISION OF THE STATE LAND DEPARTMENT FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE IN EMERGENCIES Approve an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement between Maricopa County and the Fire Management Division of the State Land Department for mutual assistance in responding to emergencies to extend the date from June 5, 2013 to June 5, 2014. Also, the Cooperative Fire Rate Agreement will be extended to April 15, 2015. There is no cost to the county for participating in the agreement. The purpose of this intergovernmental agreement is to provide a framework for mutual emergency assistance between Maricopa County and the Fire Management Division of the Arizona State Land Department. The most likely scenario for the implementation of the agreement is a wildland fire in or close to the county that is of such a magnitude that the State Land Department requests the assistance of one or more county departments. The departments most likely to be requested are MCDOT for heavy equipment operation; MCSO for traffic control, evacuations, or search and rescue; and Emergency Management for emergency operations center activation. The agreement does not obligate the county to respond to a request for assistance; it simply outlines the terms under which assistance is to be provided. (C-15-08-003-2-02)

30. AMENDMENT TO THE IGA WITH OFFICE OF THE STATE FORESTER OF THE ARIZONA STATE FORESTRY DIVISION FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE IN EMERGENCIES Approve Amendment No. 03 to an Intergovernmental Agreement between Arizona State Forester (C-15-08-003-2-02) and Maricopa County through the Department of Emergency Management. The purpose of this agreement is to provide a framework for mutual emergency assistance between Maricopa County and the State Forester of the Arizona State Forestry Division. This agreement is non-financial and is effective from April 15, 2014 until April 15, 2018. All other terms and condition of the Intergovernmental Agreement remain in full force and effect. This agreement supersede all previous agreements. The purpose of this intergovernmental agreement is to provide a framework for mutual emergency assistance between Maricopa County and the State Forester of the Arizona State Forestry Division.
