38. 2021 MARICOPA COUNTY UNINCOPORATED AREA HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN Adopt a Resolution to approve and accept the 2021 Maricopa County Unincorporated Area Hazard Mitigation Plan as the official plan of Maricopa County. The mitigation plan identifies and establishes county policies and tools that will be implemented in the unincorporated areas of the county, over the long term, which will result in a reduction of risk and potential future losses from a disaster event. The Maricopa County Unincorporated Area Hazard Mitigation Plan is incorporated into the Maricopa County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan which also includes plans from the cities, towns, and tribes within Maricopa County. This multi-jurisdictional plan establishes a framework to ensure that the most appropriate and equitable mitigation projects are undertaken. State and local governments that have established mitigation plans that meet the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 criteria and have their mitigation plans approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are eligible to receive increased future grant funding. Conversely, if states and local governments to do not have a FEMA-approved mitigation plan, they will not be eligible to apply for certain grant funding. There is no financial impact to the county as a result of this plan. Previous Agenda: C-15-16-001-M-00 (C-15-22-005-X-00)
