This item is located in Supervisor District 5. APN 101-01-016 is approximately 4.3923 acres (191,329 sq. ft.) and APN 101-01-017 is approximately 9.6015 acres (418,241 sq. ft.). The parcels were purchased from the City of Avondale in 2003 under an IGA approved by the Board on October 24, 2002 (C-18-03-006-2-00) for the purpose of City and County jointly developing a co-located Southwest Regional Government Center; however, the deed restrictions on the property were not conducive to the County’s proposed development. The County has since built their Southwest Regional Justice Court in an alternate location. The City has a first right of refusal for both parcels. (C-78-18-017-3-00)

56. TERMINATION OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS Approve the Termination of Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs) between Maricopa County and the City of Avondale and authorize the Chairman to execute all documents associated with the termination of the IGAs. This item is located in Supervisor District 5. The City of Avondale and Maricopa County have entered into several Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs) associated with due diligence and land purchase activities for a proposed shared southwest regional government complex (reference numbers C70-02-089-2-00/Recording Number 2002-0392449, C70-02-089-2-00/Recording Number 2002-0392449, C-18-03-006-2-00/Recording Number 2002-11344429 and C18-03-028-2-00/Recording Number 2003-0703121). Because the purpose of the IGAs have been fulfilled and/or the IGAs are no longer necessary, both parties desire to terminate the IGAs described above. The IGA’s referenced in this agenda will be terminated upon full execution of the Termination of Intergovernmental Agreements document. (C-78-19-016-3-00)
