60. CONSERVATION EASEMENT WITH THE CITY OF PHOENIX FOR THE SANTA FE FREIGHT DEPOT Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Conservation Easement with the City of Phoenix for the Santa Fe Freight Depot. The Santa Fe Freight Depot is located at the southwest corner of 6th Avenue and Jackson Street (APN 112-19-126). The Conservation Easement (Easement) will convey, transfer, and assign unto the City of Phoenix, an easement as authorized under the Arizona Uniform Conservation Act (ARS §§33-271 through 276). The Easement places certain requirements on Maricopa County (County), to preserve the historic and architectural value and significance of the Santa Fe Freight Depot (Depot). The Easement requires the County to maintain the structure and roof of the Depot in good repair to prevent deterioration of the facades of the depot. Additionally, the Easement requires the County to prevent visual obstruction of the facades from public viewpoints, such as adjacent streets. The Easement establishes the City of Phoenix, through its Historic Preservation Office, as the design review authority for any alterations that are to be made to the facades of the Depot.
