63. AUTHORIZE APPLICATIONS TO THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT FOR SPECIAL-USE AUTHORIZATION FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FACILITIES Approve submittal of applications to United States Bureau of Land Management for obtaining authorization associated with establishing wireless communication facilities on Bureau of Land Management property at Smith Peak, Oatman Mountain, White Tank Mountain East, and White Tank Mountain West. Also, authorize the Senior Manager of the County’s Wireless Radio Department to execute and process the subject application documents on behalf of Maricopa County. As part of the County’s Radio System Upgrade Project, the subject applications with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are the first step in establishing authority to allow the County to develop wireless radio facilities on BLM land at Smith Peak, Oatman Mountain, White Tank Mountain East and White Tank Mountain West. As part of the BLM application process, the County may be required to reimburse BLM for some costs associated with research, appraisals, environmental studies, plan review, document preparation, meetings, inspections, as-built review, project close-out and other costs associated with processing the subject applications. Subsequent Board of Supervisors agenda items will be submitted to obtain Board authorization for cost reimbursement to BLM as applicable for the individual applications for the subject sites.
