35. CONTRACT WITH GREATER PHOENIX ECONOMIC COUNCIL FOR NONPROFIT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUNDING IN FY 2022 Approve a Contract between Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) and Maricopa County, administered by the Office of Budget and Finance, in an amount not-to-exceed $685,941. The purpose of this Contract is to provide FY 2022 non-profit economic development funding to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) for purposes to include regional marketing and promotion to improve the region's business image, industry prospecting to diversify the economy through the attraction and expansion of desirable business and industry in key economic clusters, facilitating regional economic development collaborations to build a strong business climate and develop an effective regional economic development network of organizations with a common vision and mission, and coordinating Foreign Trade Zone requests. This Contract is effective from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) will conduct economic development activities in accordance with A.R.S. §11-254.04(c). The contract contains performance goals and reporting requirements. GPEC will provide quarterly reports to the County identifying its efforts during the Fiscal Year. An annual report on performance will be due no later than September 30, 2022. The Board of Supervisors is authorized to approve financial support up to $1,500,000 annually from the General Fund for the purpose of economic development programs which are operated and maintained within the boundaries of Maricopa County for government agencies and non-profit organizations pursuant to ARS §11-254 and related statutes. The Board of Supervisors approved funding for economic development in the FY 2022 Adopted Budget. (C-18-22-050-X-00)
