ACCEPT TRIBAL GAMING FUNDS FROM TOHONO O’ODHAM NATION Pursuant to A.R.S. §5-601.02, authorize Maricopa County to approve and sign the grant-in-aid agreement between Maricopa County and the Tohono O’odham Nation. Allow the Office of Budget & Finance to accept and pass-through Tribal Gaming Grant funds from the Tohono O’odham Nation for the programs listed below in the not-to-exceed amount of $260,000.00 in FY 2023. These funds are for government services that benefit the general public , including public safety, mitigation of the impacts of gaming, or promotion of commerce and economic development. American Indian Veterans Memorial Organization American Indian Veterans Memorial FY 2023 Award: $100,000.00 Arizona State University Library Labriola National American Indian Data Center FY 2023 Award: $150,000.00 Back to School Clothing Drive New Clothes, New Beginnings Program FY 2023 Award: $5,000.00 Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona Free Arts Programs FY 2023 Award: $5,000.00 The grant award is one time and there is no cash or in-kind match requirement. Indirect costs are not applicable to Tribal Gaming Grants. Future ongoing cash contributions are not required after the grant period. The grant award is not a mandated function and the services provided by this grant benefit the general public , including public safety, mitigation of the impacts of gaming, or promotion of commerce and economic development. The grant award is competitively bid and determined by the Tohono O’odham Nation. There are no costs that will need to be absorbed by the department’s operating budget. (C-18-23-056-X-00)
