12. AGREEMENT WITH ADRIANA FRIAS FOR FORENSIC SEXUAL ASSAULT AND SEXUAL ABUSE INVESTIGATIONS INVOLVING MINORS Approve an agreement with Adriana Frias to conduct forensic examinations that will aid in the investigation and prosecution of sexual assault and sexual abuse of minor children. The term of the agreement begins effective upon approval of the Board of Supervisors, and terminates June 30, 2013. Adriana Frias will provide forensic interviews of minor children who are victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault, gather evidence for use in the investigation of criminal cases and prosecution of offenders, and provide expert testimony upon request. Authorize the Chairman to sign any and all documents related to this action. These services are vital to the investigation, apprehension, and prosecution of perpetrators of child sexual assault and abuse. As such, the provisions Maricopa County Procurement Code are not applicable, MC1-102-B. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has had similar agreements with Adriana Frias in the past.
