8. NATIONAL CRIME VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK AWARENESS GRANT FUNDING Approve acceptance of $5,000.00 in Federal funding from the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators for award agreement 10-138 under CFDA 16.582. Authorize the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors to sign all grant agreements in conjunction with this award. These grant funds are for use in support of the direct costs associated with implementing a National Crime Victims’ Rights Week community awareness project. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has been selected to host a statewide campaign to increase awareness about victims’ rights in the State of Arizona. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week takes place during the week of April 18-24, 2010. These funds are passed through the grantor pursuant to Federal grant #2006-VF-GX-K024 by the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U. S. Department of Justice. This agreement will commence on the date of full execution and terminate on June 30, 2010. This grant will only reimburse the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for the actual, reasonable and necessary costs incurred in connection with the project and may not be expended for any indirect costs which may be incurred by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office or Maricopa County for the administration of this grant. The Maricopa County Department of Finance has calculated the County Attorney’s composite indirect cost rate at 14.4%. The non-recoverable indirect cost of administering this grant is $720.00. Grant revenues are not "local revenues" for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by the budget law. This award agreement is in the amount of $5,000.00. This award will be used to reimburse direct costs associated with the project such as the printing and mailing of brochures, victims’ rights cards, invitations, and the hosting of a statewide awareness event at the State Capitol. This grant will expire at the end of the agreement. There is no long term expectation of continued funding for this grant. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has received $10,000 during FY 2007-2008 for similar programs. (C-19-10-017-G-00)
