10. GRANT FUNDS FROM THE ARIZONA CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMISSION FOR THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE RECORDS IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM Approve receipt of grant funds from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) for the Criminal Justice Records Improvement Program in the amount of $135,621.00. These grant funds are provided to enhance efforts to improve criminal history records and information. This grant agreement, ACJC number CRI11-12-003, will commence on October 1, 2011 and will terminate on September 30, 2012. In accordance with the agreement, paragraph 24, these funds will not be used for any indirect or administrative costs that may be incurred by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office or Maricopa County for the administration of this grant. Thus, the grant allows a 0% rate for indirect costs, or $0 that may be incurred for the administration of this grant. The Maricopa County Department of Finance has calculated the County Attorney’s composite indirect cost rate at 13.6%, or $18,444.00. The recoverable indirect cost of administering this grant is $0 and the non-recoverable indirect cost is $18,444.00. Authorize the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, or designee, to sign all documents related to this award. Grant revenues are not "local revenues" for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by the budget law. This award agreement is in the amount of $135,621.00 in Federal dollars under CFDA 16,738 awarded to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission by the U. S. Department of Justice. These funds will be used to reduce the agency’s backlog of arrest disposition records. This grant will expire at the end of the award period unless prior written approval for an extension has been obtained from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission. Payment of these grant funds are conditioned upon the availability of funds appropriated for the payment of such obligation. (C-19-12-010-G-00)

13. AMEND AGREEMENT WITH ARIZONA CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMISSION FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE RECORDS IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CJRIP) GRANT Approve an amendment to the agreement with the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) for grant funds from the Criminal Justice Records Improvement Program. This grant agreement, ACJC number CRI11-12-003, commenced on October 1, 2011. By approving this amendment, the Board of Supervisors agrees to extend the termination date to December 31, 2013. This agreement was originally approved by the Board of Supervisors on September 14, 2011 under agenda number C-19-12-010-G-00 and the termination date was subsequently extended on September 5, 2012 to June 30, 2013. Approval of this amendment does not alter the amount of the funds to be received. This award agreement is in the amount of $135,621.00 in Federal dollars under CFDA 16,738 awarded to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission by the U. S. Department of Justice. These funds will be used to reduce the agency’s backlog of arrest disposition records.
