13. AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH ADRIANA FRIAS FOR FORENSIC SEXUAL ASSAULT AND SEXUAL ABUSE INVESTIGATIONS INVOLVING MINORS Approve Amendment No.1 to the agreement with Adriana Frias to conduct forensic examinations that will aid in the investigation and prosecution of sexual assault and sexual abuse of minor children. The Board of Supervisors approved this agreement April 11, 2012 (C-19-12-042-3-00). Approval of this action will extend the termination date of the agreement to June 30, 2014. Adriana Frias will continue to provide forensic interviews of minor children who are victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault, gather evidence for use in the investigation of criminal cases and prosecution of offenders, and provide expert testimony upon request. Authorize the Chairman to sign any and all documents related to this action. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has had similar agreements with Adriana Frias in the past. The latest was entered into on April 11, 2012 (C-19-12-042-3-00). These services are vital to the investigation, apprehension, and prosecution of perpetrators of child sexual assault and abuse. This contract is exempt from the Procurement Code by virtue of MCI 102(B). (C-19-12-042-3-01)
