8. APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL DEPUTIES AND OATH OF OFFICE Pursuant to A.R.S. § 11-409, approve, retroactively, the official appointment of James A. Eaves and Robin Burgess as Special Deputy County Attorneys of the Maricopa County Attorney effective January 9, 2015 and authorize the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to certify the Official Appointment and Oath of Office in accordance with A. R. S. § 38-231. These appointees will respond to court actions related to a December 24, 2014 denial of a disqualification of MCAO in this capital case prosecution. State v. Ted Victor Hernandez, CR2010-137021-001 The County Attorney is an officer of the County, as enumerated in A.R.S. § 11-401, and pursuant to A.R.S. § 11-409, such an enumerated County Officer may appoint deputies and assistants with the consent of the Board of Supervisors. Further, such appointments shall be in writing and certified by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. (C-19-15-024-9-00)
