17. EXCEPTION TO THE POLICY FOR ADMINISTERING GRANTS Approve a 3 month exception, effective upon Board approval, to the Policy for Administering Grants (A2505) Section D. 1 to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office that would allow applications to be submitted for unnamed prosecution or victim service related grants and/or agreements that may or may not allow indirect cost recovery and that may or may not have match requirements. Approval of this item authorizes application only and does not commit either the County Attorney’s Office, or Maricopa County to accept funding. Authorize the Chairman to sign all applications, resolutions, certifications, assurances, etc. that are included in the grant application process. The County Attorney’s Office will return to the Board of Supervisors for approval to accept any specific awards and corresponding agreements as required. Requests to accept awards or enter into agreements that are subsequent to this agenda will be presented as unique agenda items with separate tracking numbers as required. The County Attorney’s Office indirect cost rate for FY 2018 is 16.8%. The Board has previously approved similar annual requests from the County Attorney’s Office. (C-19-18-039-G-00)

The Department of Finance is currently updating the Grants Policy which may change the current process for applying for grant awards. It is anticipated that the revised Grants Policy will be completed by June 30, 2018.
