42. CERTIFICATION BY THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (OR SENIOR OFFICIAL) OF THE APPLICANT GOVERNMENT Authorize the Chairman to sign the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP) required Certification. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO) intends to submit a grant application on or before November 3, 2025, for the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) FY25 Prosecuting Cold Cases Using DNA initiative. If successful, the grant funding will provide continued funding to support an investigator, a criminal analyst, and a homicide prosecutor. MCAO has received two previous grants under this funding initiative from BJA. The current Notice of Funding Opportunity requires the signed Certification of the Chief Executive Officer (or senior official) of the Applicant Government be included in the application packet.
