20. PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT FOR THE SUN CORRIDOR CONSORTIUM SUSTAIBABLE COMMUNITIES PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM Authorize execution of partnership agreement supporting the Sun Corridor Consortium's application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Sustainable Communities Planning Grant. This agreement will authorize Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) to apply as the lead applicant on behalf of the Consortium, to include Maricopa County. Maricopa Association of Governments will assume administrative responsibilities to ensure the program complies with all of the HUD requirements. A formal partner agreement will be developed and signed within 120 days of a grant award from HUD. The Sun Corridor Consortium consists of Maricopa Association of Governments, Central Arizona Association of Governments, Pima Association of Governments and local government agencies within Maricopa, Pinal and Pima Counties. The application plan looks to bring the Sun Corridor region closer to attaining sustainable development by offering more transportation and housing options in a way that supports a thriving economy and protects the environment.
