A-8. IGA WITH PINAL COUNTY Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Pinal County establishing a process for the referral between the two jurisdictions of internal investigations, personnel matters, and other matters involving actual or potential conflicts of interest. Costs for investigations, personnel matters, and other matters will be covered on a reimbursement basis. This Agreement will expire on June 30, 2016. This Agreement may be extended for additional five (5) year terms based on mutual agreement of the Parties. Periodically, county governments require investigations that cannot be performed internally due to actual or potential conflicts of interest. The proposed agreement with Pinal County establishes a process by which Maricopa County and Pinal County can refer conflict matters to each other and provides a mechanism for the county to which an investigation is referred to incur the costs associated with the investigation and be reimbursed. 26. IGA WITH PINAL COUNTY Rescind the action taken regarding an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Pinal County, approved on February 9, 2011 (C-20-11-046-M-00). This IGA shall hereby no longer have neither force nor effect. Approve newly revised IGA with Pinal County to direct an internal affairs investigation regarding alleged misconduct by senior personnel in the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Maricopa County shall reimburse Pinal County for the necessary and reasonable charges and costs incurred by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office in the course of the Maricopa County investigation, including reimbursement for services of an outside professional organization per the terms of the IGA. This agreement will expire on December 31, 2011. Also, in accordance with A.R.S. 42-19106(b), approve a FY 2012 appropriation adjustment to transfer expenditure authority in an amount not-to-exceed $102,000 within Non Departmental (470) General Fund (100) Non Recurring Non Project (0001) from Contingency (4711) to a new line in Other Programs (4712) entitled Pinal County IGA-MCSO Internal Affairs Investigation. These funds will reimburse Pinal County for the costs incurred for the investigation. (C-20-11-135-M-00)
