23. IGA WITH CITY OF PHOENIX FOR CRIME PREVENTION SUMMER HEALTH, SAFETY AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between City of Phoenix and Maricopa County through the Office of the County Manager, in the not-to-exceed amount of $6,000. The purpose of this Intergovernmental Agreement is for Crime Prevention Summer Health, Safety and Recreational Activities. This Intergovernmental Agreement is effective from June 22, 2011 until June 30, 2012. The intent of the proposed Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Phoenix is to support at least three community safety, health and recreational events focusing on South Mountain youth and their families. These events, sponsored jointly by Maricopa County and the City of Phoenix, will be held at Phoenix parks, including, but not limited to, Hermosa Park, Hayden Park and Lind Park. These events will enhance the County’s youth-and family-focused initiatives associated with the Crime Prevention Plan approved by the Board of Supervisors in March 2008. These funds will reimburse the City of Phoenix for unburdened staff salaries, recreational activities, refreshments and participant incentives. (C-20-11-063-3-00)
