19. ACCEPT TRIBAL GAMING FUNDS FROM GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY FOR READING FOR THE STARS Authorize acceptance of funds from the Gila River Indian Community for Reading for the Stars program. On June 22, 2011, the board authorized submission of this application to the Gila River Indian Community (C-20-11-120-G-00). These funds are for government services that benefit the general public, including public safety, mitigation of the impact of gaming, or promotion of commerce and economic development. The total amount of funds to be received will not exceed $68,835 for FY 2011-12. Authorize the Chairman to sign all acceptance documents. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these funds are not prohibited by the budget law. Indirect costs are not applicable to Tribal Gaming Grants.
