28. EMPLOYEE AWARDS FOR REWARDING IDEAS PROGRAMS Authorize and approve the employee awards from the Rewarding Ideas Program in the amount of $5,557.00, and present awards on July 17, 2013. The Rewarding Ideas Merit Award Board met on May 21, 2013, and approved and recommended the employee awards. (C-20-13-043-M-00)

5. EMPLOYEE AWARDS FOR THE REWARDING IDEAS PROGRAM Present the following employees awards from the Rewarding Ideas Program: Emelda Dailey, $557, Superior Court: Proposed eliminating the use of pre-stamped envelopes for mailing family court and civil court settlement conference evaluation forms to Alternative Dispute Resolution. This change has deferred the cost of postage to parties/counsel, resulting in an annual tangible savings of $2,784. Leslie Glover, $2,500, Equipment Services: Proposed a change to reduce the installation and maintenance of fire extinguishers in county vehicles. This change reduced the amount of vehicles with fire extinguishers, resulting in an annual tangible savings of $28,000. Gary Heath, $2,500, Sheriff’s Office: Proposed changing the service packaging of peanut butter. The change used the existing equipment, eliminating the need for new equipment, removing production from the bakery, reducing the risk of cross contamination, and using less expensive materials. This resulted in increasing the amount of production and realized a tangible savings of $36,382. (C-20-13-043-M-00)
