21. EMPLOYEE AWARDS FOR REWARDING IDEAS PROGRAM Authorize and approve the employee awards from the Rewarding Ideas Program in the amount of $5,000.00, and present awards on December 10, 2014. The Rewarding Ideas Merit Award Board met on October 28, 2014, and approved the following recommended employee awards. Ryan McDevitt, $2,500, Recorder’s Office: Proposed eliminating a large percentage of the manual updates for the Recorder’s Grantee/Grantor database records by running a query to remove unnecessary suffix data, update records, and delete duplicates from the Recorder’s historic indexing database. The increased efficiency resulted in the elimination of the Office Assistant position and resulting in an annual savings of $27,872. Frances Stephenson, $2,500, Risk Management: Proposed the utilization of an “online” safety training product that is customizable in order to reference Maricopa County’s internal policies and procedures and provide all of the mandatory regulatory components. This eliminated the costly annual membership fees of the product currently utilized. The new idea resulted in the elimination of the Syntrio contract, resulting in an annual tangible savings of $16,500, and an intangible savings of $44,000 per year in labor hours. (C-20-15-024-M-00)
