34. IGA WITH THE MARICOPA COUNTY SPECIAL HEALTH CARE DISTRICT REGARDING COURT-ORDERED MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATIONS Approve an IGA with the Maricopa County Special Health Care District (MIHS) which details the responsibilities of each party regarding court-ordered evaluations by MIHS of persons held in custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (inmates). The term of the agreement is upon execution of the IGA by both parties until December 31, 2020 unless terminated pursuant to Sec 5 of the IGA. The IGA may be extended for four (4) additional one (1) year terms with the consent of both parties. Maricopa County and the Maricopa County Special Health Care District (MIHS) negotiated an IGA to memorialize the understandings of the parties and the undertaking by the District regarding court-ordered mental health evaluations by the District of persons held in custody of the County (Inmates). The IGA is intended to provide for orderly evaluation of Inmates at MIHS facilities and to address safety concerns voiced by MIHS. (C-20-16-024-M-00)
