40. CONTRACT WITH CENTRAL ARIZONA SHELTER SERVICES TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AND LOW DEMAND SHELTER SERVICES Approve a Contract between Central Arizona Shelter Services and Maricopa County through the Human Services Department, in the not-to-exceed amount of $802,698 The purpose of this Contract is to provide shelter and support services protecting the physical, emotional, and mental well being of eligible homeless individuals and families while assisting them to become self-sufficient. This Contract is effective from July 1, 2009 until June 30, 2010. The department is awarding the contract at the direction of the Board of Supervisors without competition. These funds are subject to disbursement at the sole discretion of the Board to any governmental agency or non-profit corporation provided that the funds are used for the purpose determined by the Board. 64. AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH CENTRAL ARIZONA SHELTER SERVICES TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AND LOW DEMAND SHELTER SERVICES Approve Amendment No. 1 to an Agreement between Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) and Maricopa County administered by its Human Services Department (C-22-10-014-3-00) to reduce the Low Demand Shelter budget line item by $158,000.00 and increase the Emergency Shelter budget line item by $158,000. This amendment does not affect the overall contract amount which will remain the same at $802,698 for FY 2010. The term of this amendment is from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. This Agreement is funded through the County General Fund. The Human Services Department has awarded this Agreement to CASS without competition, at the direction of the Board of Supervisors. Funding for this Agreement is subject to disbursement at the sole discretion of the Board to any governmental agency or non-profit corporation provided that the funds are used for the purpose determined by the Board.
