33. AGREEMENT WITH NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES OF SOUTHWEST MARICOPA COUNTY, INC. FOR MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION PROGRAM Approve the agreement between Neighborhood Housing Services of Southwest Maricopa County, Inc., a non-profit agency, and Maricopa County through its Human Services Department, in the not-to-exceed amount of $250,000. The purpose of this grant Agreement is to provide Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds for the purpose of providing financing to low and moderate income homebuyers acquiring foreclosed homes in the southwest valley. This Agreement is effective upon execution and will expire September 15, 2013. Indirect costs do not apply to this Agreement. These funds have been included in the FY 2009-2010 budget. No general funds will be involved in this activity. The intent of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program is to address the issue of vacant, foreclosed upon residential housing in Maricopa County. Neighborhood Housing Services of Southwest Maricopa County, Inc. will utilize the Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds to provide financial assistance for a minimum of 10 low to moderate income homebuyers in communities of Goodyear, Tolleson, Youngtown, Buckeye, and El Mirage. This program is funded through a grant from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. (C-22-10-059-3-00)
