38. SALE OF SURPLUS VEHICLES Approve the sale of two vehicles which were purchased by the Human Services Department Education Division through its Head Start grant. These vehicles are too old or in need of too much repair to be used any longer. The automobiles will be turned over to Equipment Services Department and sold at public auction. The sale of these vehicles will result in a net decrease in the County fleet. The two vehicles are: VEHICLE #51912 - 1999 Ford /Taurus VEHICLE #51702 – 1997 Ford/Taurus (C-22-11-015-V-00)

54. ADDITION OF VEHICLES TO THE FLEET Approve the addition of two new vehicles to the fleet, to replace vehicles #51912 and #51702 that were previously approved for surplus by the Board of Supervisors on August 18, 2010 (C-22-11-015-V-00). The cost of these new vehicles is approximately $50,000 and will be paid for with ARRA grant funds. There will be no impact to the County General Fund. Funding for the Early Head Start and Head Start ARRA Expansion grants were approved by the Board of Supervisors on September 2, 2009(C-22-09-153-G-00 and C-22-10-018-G-00). The purchased vehicles will be used for the Head Start program to ensure available transportation for staff operations. Recently, two older vehicles were retired due to age and inability to provide service. This has placed a strain on the staff and the remaining vehicles. (C-22-11-015-V-01)

ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION TO SALE OF SURPLUS VEHICLE AND VEHICLE REPLACEMENT Approve an administrative correction to an action approved by the Board on August 18, 2010, (C-22-11-015-V-00) relating to the sale of surplus vehicles and a subsequent amendment (C-22-11-015-V-01), approved by the Board on September 15, 2010, relating to the replacement of the surplus vehicles. The purpose of this administrative correction is to replace an incorrect vehicle number listed in those agenda items as follows: Previous vehicle number: VEHICLE #51912 - 1999 Ford /Taurus Corrected vehicle number: VEHICLE #51914 - 1999 Ford /Taurus The vehicles #51912 and #51914 are the same age and were in similar condition; however #51914 had significant repairs required to the A/C system and was deemed unservicable.
