40. DONATION OF TICKETS TO DIAMONDBACKS BASEBALL FOR USE BY HEAD START PROGRAM Accept a donation from a Head Start volunteer, Phil McIlleen, of 525 Diamondback tickets for baseball games on September 21, 2010, and September 23, 2010. The tickets were offered first to families of Head Start children at no charge to them. Tickets not utilized by Head Start families were made available to Head Start staff on a first come first serve basis. Each ticket has a value of $15; the total value of this donation is $7,875. Use of these tickets will assist with the achievement of the Head Start goals to strengthen the relationship between children and their families, and to increase family involvement in the Head Start programs for their children. These tickets will provide a bonding experience for some families who might not ordinarily have had such an opportunity. This will also provide an opportunity for staff to interact with the Head Start families in a non-work environment to strengthen the relationships they are developing with the families.
