17. TERMINATION OF THE COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN HOUSING OUR COMMUNITIES INC., CITY OF AVONDALE, AND MARICOPA COUNTY Approve the termination of the Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) agreement between Housing Our Communities, Inc. (HOC), City of Avondale, and Maricopa County through the Human Services Department, Community Development Division (C-22-11-053-3-00). The termination of this agreement is effective December 9, 2011. Pursuant to the Suspension and Termination section within the agreement, page 25, Section 13, Paragraph A, “Agency may suspend or terminate this Agreement if CHDO violates any term or condition of this Agreement or if CHDO fails to maintain a good faith effort to carry out the purpose of this Agreement.” HOC is in receipt of a termination letter dated December 9, 2011. Maricopa County is the lead agency for the Maricopa HOME Consortium. The Consortium is required to allocate 15% of the annual HOME allocation for CHDO set-aside projects. The HOME program is funded through a grant from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. (C-22-12-056-M-00)
