28. MANAGEMENT AND IMPLMENTATION AGREEMENT WITH VALLE DEL SOL FOR STATE AND ARRA FUNDED HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND RAPID RE-HOUSING PROGRAM Approve a Management and Implementation Agreement between Valle del Sol, Inc., a non-profit agency, and Maricopa County through its Human Services Department, in the not-to-exceed amount of $100,000. The purpose of this Agreement is to fund the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program, which provides financial assistance and /or services to help individuals and families retain or gain housing stability. This Agreement is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 through an Agreement with the Arizona Department of Housing, to be approved by the Board of Supervisors at the same meeting as this agenda item. This Agreement is effective May 1, 2011 and will expire no later than October 31, 2011, or upon expenditure of all grant funds. This funding does not impact the General Fund. The intent of the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program is to help those who are homeless or who would be homeless but for this assistance and who can remain stably housed after the temporary assistance ends. This program is funded through the Arizona Department of Housing, a prime grantee of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s ARRA funding. (C-22-11-060-G-00)
