51. AGREEMENT WITH ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY TO EVALUATE THE COMMUNITY JUSTICE SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM Approve an agreement with the Arizona Board of Regents for and on behalf of Arizona State University, Office for Research and Sponsored Projects Administration in the not-to-exceed amount of $100,000.00. Primary funding for this agreement is provided by the County Jail Tax and will not affect the County General Fund. The purpose of this agreement is to provide technical assistance to the Community Justice Support Services Program and to conduct an evaluation of the Program. Results of the evaluation will be reported to the Board of Supervisors and the public at the end of the first year of the program. The term of this agreement is from July 1, 2011 through August 30, 2012. The Community Justice Support Services Program will be administered by a new division within the Maricopa County Human Services Department, named the Community Justice Support Services Division. In support of Maricopa County Justice initiatives to reduce recidivism and reentry to our jails and detention facilities, the Community Justice Support Services Program will provide intensive case management to probationers and their families as part of the behavioral change process. The Community Justice Support Services Division may also serve to support comprehensive prevention and intervention services to youth and adults who are at-risk within the Criminal Justice System. 39. AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY TO EVALUATE THE COMMUNITY JUSTICE SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM Approve Amendment Number 1 to an Agreement between Maricopa County and the Arizona Board of Regents for and on behalf of Arizona State University to evaluate the Human Services Department Community Justice Support Services Program. The amendment will: Extend the term of the Agreement from September 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013: increase the total contract amount by $100,000.00 from $100,000.00 to $200,000.00; and revise Section III, Work Statement to incorporate language for Year 2 of the Agreement. Funding for this agreement is provided by the County Jail Tax and will not affect the County General Fund. This agreement provides technical assistance to the Community Justice Support Services Program of the Maricopa County Human Services Department and a final evaluation of the Program. Amendment Number 1 requires additional progress reports; final information concerning the program's results,; and, contingent upon extended or expanded funding, provides for recommendations of further effective strategies and assistance with evaluation components of any future grant applications.
