42. ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM SHARE OUR STRENGTH NO KID HUNGRY FOR PARTICIPATION BY HEAD START FAMILIES IN COOKING MATTERS CLASSES Accept a $1,500 monetary donation (grant) from the Share Our Strength, 1030 15th Street NW, Suite 1100W; Washington, DC 20005, a national non-profit organization for participation by Head Start families in Cooking Matters Classes for the program period through 7/30/2014. The purpose of the Cooking Matters Classes is to educate families at risk of hunger to cook healthy, affordable, and delicious meals as part of the Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign. The donation will be used to purchase supplies and training materials for Head Start nutrition staff to conduct classes for parents in the Maricopa County Head Start Zero-Five Program for a six week period. Donation funds are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitations, and therefore expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. Approval of this action does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. The overall budget will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate this donation through a future reconciliation. This donation will not affect the County General Fund. (C-22-14-055-D-00)
