67. AGREEMENT WITH MARICOPA WORKFORCE CONNECTIONS BOARD Approve an Agreement between Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and Maricopa Workforce Connections Board (MWC). The Agreement is a requirement of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Public Law 15-220 Section 134. The Agreement outlines the roles and responsibilities between the Board of Supervisors and MWC in the operation of the One-Stop Career Centers. The term of the Agreement shall commence upon approval and signature of the Board of Supervisors through June 30, 2017, and thereafter shall automatically be renewed from program year to program year unless; (1) either party gives at least 30 days notice to the others of its intention not to renew, or (2) MWC prepares and submits a new Maricopa County Workforce Investment Board Five-Year Plan to the State of Arizona. Maricopa County, outside the City of Phoenix is the designated Local Workforce Investment Area and is the grant recipient of the Workforce Investment Act funds passed through the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
