44. GRANT FUNDS FROM MARKLE FOUNDATION FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Approve an Agreement with the Markle Foundation and Maricopa County administered by its Human Services Department and approve receipt of Grant funds. The Human Services Department Workforce Development Division Arizona@Work applied for and was awarded a grant of $50,000 forimplementing “SKILLFUL – A Markle Initiative” in Maricopa County. The FY 2016 Human Services Department approved U.S. Department of Health and Human Services indirect cost rate is 20.2% of salaries and employee related expenses. Grant funds are $50,000 of which $45,455 is for salaries and fringe benefits. Grant allowable indirect cost is 10%, therefore, the total estimated recoverable indirect costs are $4,545 and $4,637 are unrecoverable. The funds are available for the period of April 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016. Approval of this action will authorize the Chairman or designee to sign all documents related to these grant funds. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the revenues is not prohibited by the budget law. This grant does not alter the budget constraining expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. The overall grant budget will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate this grant through a future reconciliation. Acceptance of Grant funds will not impact the Maricopa County General funds.
