45. EXCEPTION TO THE POLICY FOR ADMINISTERING GRANTS Authorize the following actions relating to Human Services Grant Fund (222) and Community Development Block Grant Housing Trust Fund (217) for FY 2017 funding: 1) Approve an exception to the Policy for Administering Grants (A2505) Section D.1 for the Maricopa County Human Services Department that would allow applications to be submitted for grant funding which may or may not allow indirect cost recovery and which may or may not have match requirements. Approval of this item authorizes submittal of application only and does not commit either Maricopa County or the Human Services Department to accept funding. 2) Authorize the Department Director and or the Chairman if needed, to sign all applications, resolutions, certifications, assurances etc. that are included in the grant application process. The Human Services Department will submit to the Board of Supervisors for approval to accept any specific awards and corresponding agreements. Requests to accept awards or enter into agreements that are subsequent to this agenda will be presented as unique agenda items with separate tracking numbers. Approval of this item will enable the Human Services Department to apply for and submit grant funding when notice of grant applications are issued. Notices of grant applications and corresponding deadlines do not often correlate with the Board of Supervisors agenda approval process. The Human Services Department submitted a proposed Indirect rate of 19.9% of allowable personnel costs to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Notification of the approved Indirect rate has not been received. The Human Services Department shall ensure all grant applications contain the approved Indirect rate. (C-22-16-035-6-00)
