67. ACCEPT GRANT FROM SHARE OUR STRENGTH’S NO KID HUNGRY CAMPAIGN FOR THE COOKING MATTERS PROGRAM Accept a grant award from Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign for the Cooking Matters Program. The grant amount is $1,500 and shall end 1 full calendar year from Award. Funding availability shall be upon approval by the Board of Supervisors. The Maricopa County Human Services Department Head Start program submitted a grant application to pursue a Cooking Matters course for 20 Head Start families. The purpose of the Cooking Matters Classes is to educate families on making changes to their current cooking style based on the recommendations from the Cooking Matters course. The Head Start program will partner with Arizona State University (ASU) College of Health Solutions students to assist with teaching classes. The grant will be used to purchase supplies and training materials for the Head Start Nutritionist to conduct six to eight classes for participating parents in the Maricopa County Head Start Zero-Five Program that will be spread out over 3-5 months. The proposed Human Services Department FY2018 indirect rate with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is 20.4% of personnel and benefits related costs. The total grant funds are $1,500 of which $0.00 is for salaries and benefits. The total estimated indirect costs are $0.00. Grant funds are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitations, and therefore expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. Approval of this action does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. The overall budget will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate this donation through a future reconciliation. Supervisor District: All (C-22-18-009-G-00)
