42. PARTICIPATION IN OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH PROGRAM ACTIVITIES Approve participation in Opportunities for Youth (OFY) program activities and recognition as a Cohort 1 member. OFY is a collaboration of Phoenix based organizations that provide services to youth, with a focus on disconnected youth. OFY’s purpose is to build a community of collaboration that minimizes unnecessary duplication of programs and services and leverages the unique aspects of all partners, to build capacity for programs that work to reengage disconnected youth. Participation in OFY activities will include recognizing the County’s Arizona@Work Maricopa County Youth Program sites and services as Reengagement Centers (RC). As a RC, services will align reengagement practices, performances, and processes across organizations serving youth. This will help to reduce silos, and build capacity in order to create a system that can successfully serve youth in Maricopa County. In this regard, Human Services Department would like to request the following items: 1. Approve a non-financial commitment for Maricopa County to participation as Cohort 1 Member with Opportunities for Youth. The County’s participation, will be administered by the Human Services Department Arizona@Work Maricopa County Youth Program; and 2. Authorize the Human Services Department Director as the signatory on the Reengagement Center Letter of Commitment and all required documents related to this activity. The County’s engagement in OFY’s activities is for a two (2) year period retroactive from December 1, 2017 to November 30, 2019. The County shall confirm participation in the OFY’s activities by signing the Reengagement Center Letter of Commitment (“Attachment A”).
