35. REVISION TO THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM PERMANENT AGREEMENT AND RECEIPT OF FUNDS Request approval of the following actions: 1. Submit a revision to the Arizona Department Of Education Child Nutrition Program Child And Adult Care Food Program Permanent Agreement (“Agreement”) (A.G. Contract No. KR02-1170-ALS) for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), administered by Maricopa County Human Services Department, Early Education Division, Head Start Program. The revised Agreement identifies the individuals authorized to sign any documents that relate to CACFP activities. a. The County and ADE entered into the Permanent Agreement on October 26, 2013. Due to staff changes in Human Services Department, a revised Permanent Agreement must be submitted to ADE. 2. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Permanent Agreement and authorize the Human Services Department Director to sign documents related to CACFP activities to include requests for funds and any additional awards issued subsequently up to the estimated funding amount and Administration Account documents and reports required by ADE. If the Human Services Department is notified of availability of additional funds, the Department will request formal approval for acceptance of any increase in funds. 3. Receipt of CACFP funds in the amount of $631,909 the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. a. CACFP funds are provided to Maricopa County and administered by the Human Services Department Early Education Division, Maricopa County Head Start Program. The Head Start Program submitted a CACFP funding application. ADE provided electronic notification on December 15, 2021, that the Head Start application was approved. b. CACFP funds are reimbursement for meals that are provided to Head Start program participants. The County contracts with Mesa Unified School District (C-22-20-008-3-00) and Scottsdale Unified School District (C-22-20-009-3-00) to provide Catered Meals and snacks that meet 1/3 to 2/3 of the daily nutritional needs of the program participants.
