51. DISPOSITION AND PURCHASE OF VEHICLES FOR THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT VEHICLE FLEET The Maricopa County Human Services Department is requesting the following actions: 1. Request authorization to dispose of a vehicle asset assigned to the Human Services Department, Early Education Division-Head Start program fleet. A. Vehicle Identification Number/County # Year/Make/Model 1GBJC34FXSE163390/ 42502 1995 CHEVROLET Cheyenne B. The vehicle is at the County’s maintenance point limit, has high mileage and is cost prohibitive to maintain. C. The Department will utilize the County’s auction system to dispose of the vehicle utilizing the following strategies: i . Sell the vehicle to another Maricopa County department; and/or ii. Sell vehicle at auction D. The estimated auction sale of the vehicle is $3,000, the anticipated funds will be used to offset the cost of a replacement vehicle. 2. Request approval for the purchase of a 2-ton Pick-up truck (a one-time addition to the Human Services Department fleet for the Early Education Division: A. The one-time addition will be a 2-ton pick-up truck for the purposes of transporting large items such as: classroom furniture and supplies, office furniture, cleaning supplies, and tools for classroom and playground maintenance. B. The pick-up truck is valued at $80,000. 3. The disposition of one (1) vehicle and purchase of one (1) vehicle will have a zero-net effect of the Human Services Department fleet of 25 vehicles. 4. Authorize the Chairman to sign the required documents for submittal to the Office of Head Start for the disposition and purchase of the vehicles.
