44. AFFILIATION AGREEMENT WITH ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY AND ITS EDSON COLLEGE OF NURSING AND HEALTH INNOVATION Approve a non-financial Affiliation Agreement (Agreement) with Arizona Board of Regents for an on behalf of Arizona State University and its Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation (“School”) for Internship Student Placement and Maricopa County (“Facility”) administered by the Human Services Department. Through this Agreement, School Interns shall be provided with supervised practice educational experiences with the Head Start program. Interns are provided with training opportunities that may include assessments and observations in the following areas: • Observe the unique ages and stages of children birth to five • Observe case management strategies, including time management and caseload priority • Provide direct support of children’s social emotional development • Observe and co-facilitate family needs assessment • Observe and co-facilitate child assessment including Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG), Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA), Family Maps (FMAPS) • Assist with identifying required system changes and assist with developing processes for improved outcome measures The term of this Agreement shall be for a period of five (5) years from the effective date. The Parties may renew the term of this Agreement for additional terms up to a maximum of five (5) years. Also request authorization for the Chairman to sign documents related to student placements and activities as required by the School. Approval of this item will not impact the County General Fund.
