40. MOU WITH THESMILEZONE, INC FOR ORAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR HEAD START PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS (Supervisorial District: All) Approve a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TheSmileZone, Inc., (Provider) and Maricopa County (County) administered by its Human Services Department. The purpose of the MOU is for Provider to provide Oral Health Services to Head Start Program participants by conducting onsite oral health services at Head Start program locations which may include exams/screenings, prophylaxis (cleaning), possible x-rays and restorative care, fluoride treatments, dental sealants as needed, along with providing dental outreach to students and their families to encourage preventative oral health activities. TheSmileZone, Inc. will provide onsite dental equipment and oral health services to Head Start Program (Participants) at various Head Start Program locations. The County and Provider will collaborate to offer Oral Health Services to Participants ages 0-5. Oral Health Services will be provided to ALL participants free of charge, regardless of economic status and only with the permission of the participant’s parent or guardian in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards in 45 CFR 1302.42. The MOU term is retroactive, beginning January 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. This non-financial Agreement will not impact the County General Fund. (C-22-26-027-X-00)
