Amendments are required if the program needs to transfer funds between budget line items in an aggregate amount of $250,000 or more. The total required NFS for FY2027 is $5,580,897 for the budget period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. NFS is generated through in-kind donations of goods and services as well as parent volunteering. The services provided under this grant are not a mandated function but provides a benefit to the citizens by providing eligible children with high quality care and education by integrating federal Head Start performance measures. Maricopa County has been providing Early Head Start services since 1997. The purpose of the Maricopa County Head Start Program is to promote school readiness by educating children and supporting families.
