48. BASE SALARY INCREASE FOR JUDGE JOE B. GETZWILLER, JUSTICE OF THE PEACE FOR THE IRONWOOD JUSTICE COURT The base salary for a Maricopa County Justice of the Peace (JP) is calculated as a percentage of the Arizona Superior Court Judge’s base salary, based on the specific court’s Judicial Productivity Credits (JPC) (see chart below). Judge Getzwiller is now eligible for a salary increase based on the increase in JPCs for Ironwood Justice Court. Court FY JPC JPC Category JP Eligible Salary percentage (based on the annual salary of a Superior Court Judge ($149,383) Ironwood JC 21 147.7 100 – 149 50 % $ 74,691.50 Ironwood JC 22 151.5 150 – 199 55 % $ 82,160.65 Per ARS §22-125, each year the Arizona supreme court shall annually perform the calculations required by subsection B for each justice court, for the previous twelve-month period ending on June 30 to determine the total judicial productivity credits. The Arizona Supreme Court shall report the total judicial productivity credits for each justice court to the applicable board of supervisors within one hundred twenty days after the end of each twelve-month period. Any adjustment to the salary of a Maricopa County JP is effective on the following January 1. Legislation in 2017 modified the formula used to calculate these credits and, may require the Board of Supervisors to make justice of the peace salary adjustments. Judicial Productivity Credits (JPCs) are based on Justice Court fiscal year filings. Fiscal year 2022 filings were compiled from monthly statistical reports submitted to the Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts. (C-24-23-004-X-00)
