32. GRANT APPLICATION FOR BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FY 2009-10 JUSTICE AND MENTAL HEALTH COLLABORATION PROGRAM Approve the submittal of an application for the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) FY 2009-10 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration program. The program seeks to increase public safety through innovative cross-system collaboration for individuals with mental illness or co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorder who come into contact with the justice system. The Grant will be entered into with collaborative effort with Phoenix Police Department, as well as other community providers of mental health and substance abuse programs. The award ceiling is $250,000, and requires 20% cost sharing or matching funds. If awarded, matching requirements could total $50,000. (C-26-10-006-G-00)
