40. IGA WITH ARIZONA HEALTH CARE COST CONTAINMENT SYSTEM TO SUSPEND AHCCCS BENEFITS FOR INCARCERATED PERSONS Retroactively approve an Intergovernmental Agreement between Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Maricopa County through the Department of Correctional Health Services (CHS), for the purpose of establishing procedures to accommodate AHCCCS eligibility suspension at the time of incarceration. This Intergovernmental Agreement is non-financial and is effective from July 1, 2018 and shall remain in effect with no end date until terminated pursuant to the terms set forth in this Agreement. The purpose of this Agreement is for Maricopa County and AHCCCS to jointly develop and implement a system to match AHCCCS member data with Maricopa County’s inmate population data to facilitate the identification of incarcerated individuals so that those individuals Title XIX benefits may be suspended or placed on a no-pay status. It will also allow those individuals to have benefits immediately reinstated upon their release from custody. (C-26-19-003-3-00)
