47. AMENDMENT TO MOU WITH MARICOPA COUNTY OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Maricopa County Department of Correctional Health Services (MCCHS) and Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner (OME). CHS maintains an Electronic Health Record (EHR) software system that contains electronically stored health information about patients, including Protected Health Information (PHI). The purpose of this MOU is to govern the operation and Parties' participation in the exchange of PHI for purposes authorized by law, including, but not limited to, the purpose of identifying a deceased person, determining the cause of death, and for other Medical Examiner duties authorized by law. The original agreement specified the brand name of the EHR, and CHS is transitioning to a new EHR system. As such, the brand name has been removed in favor of the more general EHR terminology. The MOU has no expiration date. (C-26-19-004-3-01)
